Financial Recruitment Group was established in 1995 as an executive search and selection firm, focusing on providing specialist executive search services to the funds management and broader financial services industry.

Our directors and consultants have all held senior executive roles in funds management/ financial services, which provides our clients a broad range of operational experience of the industry. This has also proven to be invaluable in senior level assignments where consultants are making detailed recommendations regarding candidate suitability.

Our firm has offices in both Sydney and Melbourne and our consulting team work on a collegiate basis to source and filter appropriate senior level candidates across assignments.

All of our consultants have strong backgrounds within financial services prior to joining Financial Recruitment Group and each has strong networks and knowledge of valuable market information. This ensures that when we conduct an assignment our clients are receiving the experience of an organisation that is the leader in financial services search and selection. Long term background knowledge of candidates in the market is not usually known within generalist search organisations. This is especially important when approaching candidates initially with the opportunity, as they feel more comfortable to speak to a company that understands them and their industry. We are also far more likely to get good candidates to the table when they feel comfortable that we will maintain their confidentiality.

It has been the philosophy of the firm that consultants should have ‘ownership’ of their assignments and are responsible for each part of the process from scoping the role to the finalisation of the assignment.

One of our founding principles is that we treat our candidates like clients and at an early stage establish relationships ensuring that we maintain contact with candidates throughout their careers, offering guidance where and when required. In addition, our directors have taken on mentoring roles to senior executives in both large institutions and small to medium sized companies.

Financial Recruitment Group is an active member of industry associations and our directors are regular presenters at annual conferences, workshops, and seminars. In addition, we initiated the industry salary survey that features in the IFA magazine each year and is a key source of accurate and meaningful remuneration data for our clients. This also ensures that our information on executive salaries is up-to-date and verified each year, and that we maintain regular contact with senior executives within financial organisations of all sizes to obtain this information.
